          With his upcoming self-released EP, Marc Fontane strives to bring an authenticity unseen in the modern musical climate. His style opts for a raw home-brew sound, with feel-good anthems and fresh lyrical color reminiscent of the 70’s – 90’s with a modern punch-up. Cast as Duke in “Nice Work If You Can Get It” Musical
2016

Cast and awarded Best Supporting Actor for the role of Duke in a 2016 production of “Nice Work If You Can Get It”. The show is set in the 1920s, all set to the legendary songs of George and Ira Gershwin. It follows charming and wealthy playboy Jimmy Winter, who meets rough female bootlegger Billie Bendix the weekend of his wedding. Jimmy is preparing to marry Eileen Evergreen, a self-obsessed modern dancer. Thinking Jimmy and Eileen will be out of town, the bootlegging trio Billie, Cookie, and Duke hide cases of alcohol the basement of Jimmy’s Long Island mansion. But when Jimmy, his wife-to-be and her prohibitionist family show up at the mansion for the wedding, Billie and her cohorts pose as servants, causing hi-jinks galore.

Cast and awarded Best Actor for the role of Officer Lockstock in a 2015 production of “Urinetown”. The darkly comic, neo-Brechtian Urinetown tells of a futuristic city where a drought and water shortage prompts a corrupt corporation to run public toilets — and charges the citizenry dearly. Officer Lockstock is a corrupt policeman and serves as the tongue-in-cheek narrator of the show. He is bold, brash, and larger-than-life. When Lockstock isn’t breaking the 4th wall with narration or tongue-in-cheek satire, he exercises his commanding authority in the show in attempt to quell the impending uprising of the oppressed citizens led by Bobby Strong.

Set in the small, tight-knit village of Anatevka, the story reflects the delicate balancing act between tradition and change—like a fiddler teetering on a roof. Despite the uncertainty surrounding them, the villagers find strength in their enduring traditions. Through its universal themes of family, love, faith, and resilience, the musical resonates across cultures and generations, enriched by its unforgettable characters and iconic songs.
